The Evergreen Shiba Club was founded in 1986 before the
AKC recognized the Shiba Inu in 1992. The goal of the Club in the early days was to get together and compete with their shibas at rare breed shows. When the Shiba was recognized by AKC, the Evergreen Shiba Club Hosted the first Annual National Specialty. In the late 1990's early 2000, the focus was to become an independently AKC licensed club and put on its own Specialties out from under the auspices of the parent club. One requirement of the American Kennel Club was that we incorporate the word "Inu" into the
club's name, so we are now known as,Evergreen Shiba Inu Club
